Understanding the Problem:
Damp walls are a common occurrence in homes due to various factors such as leaks, condensation, poor ventilation, and rising dampness. Ignoring these issues can lead to mould growth, peeling paint, musty odours, and even deterioration of the building’s structure over time.
Product to be Used: ASIAN PAINTS SmartCare -Hydro Loc Emulsion.

Points to keep in mind for the product:
- Do not dilute the mixture; it’s a ready mixture that should be directly applied to the wall.
- Use at least two coats of the product.
- The product comes in various packaging, from 1L and 4L.
- The product does not work on running leakages.
- It comes with a 5-year waterproofing warranty on Dampness and Efflorescence on plaster surfaces.

Steps to follow:
- Make sure the actual cause of dampness/ leakage is well-treated.
- Let the wall dry in case it is extremely wet.
- Scrape off any damaged paint or POP on the wall. Then, clean the wall with a cloth to remove any dust. (Any surface cracks should be filled with white cement.)
- Now, take the Hydroloc by Asian Paints and apply a generous coat to the wall with a brush. Do apply the emulsion. Covering an additional one foot on all sides of the affected area. Let it dry for at least 6-8 hours.
- When the first coat completely dries, apply a second coat of the mixture and again let it dry completely.
- Now sand the wall with 180 sandpaper to make it smooth. Wipe it clean.
Follow these two additional steps to completely restore the wall’s appearance and match the color of the wall paint.
